Basically everything you get in San Diego but without having to fight (or pay) for parking.  Plus El Cajon streets are the best in the county!

Mike:
It was a great place to live and raise our children.

About Fletcher Hills

Nestled between El Cajon and La Mesa is the family-friendly community of Fletcher Hills. Named after San Diego politician Ed Fletcher, who later became a California senator, this area was developed in 1927-1928. Close to the trolley and Routes 8 and 125, there is easy access to downtown San Diego and the beaches less than 30 minutes away. Grossmont Hospital is a short distance away, as is Grossmont College.

Homes built on the hills offer panoramic views of canyons, hillsides, the mountains north to Ramona, and El Cajon Valley. Nearby is Hillside Park and Recreation Center, which offers classes and activities for children. Hike the many trails that wind up through the hills in the park. Swim laps or learn to swim in the pool at the Fletcher Hills Recreation Center. Bowl a few games at Parkway Bowl or play lazer tag at the Boardwalk arcade.

For those who like to walk, jog, or cycle in a serene setting, Lake Murray features a 6.4-mile round-trip path around the lake. Fishing is permitted, and visitors have access to barbecues and picnic tables for a peaceful, relaxing afternoon.

Residents don’t have far to travel to shop. Parkway Plaza, an indoor mall with over 170 stores, is anchored by Sears, JC Penney, Macy’s, and a Walmart, as well as an 18-screen movie theater.

Downtown El Cajon, a quick drive away, has gone through revitalization in recent years, bringing back an old-time village feel. Browse shops and galleries on Main Street. At the Downtown Café, tap your feet to live music while imbibing in one of the many local draft brews, or sip a frosty margarita at Por Favor.

An established neighborhood, Fletcher Hills offers a quiet, safe environment for couples and families with children who want to live in a convenient, suburban neighborhood.
