I Love Myrtle Creek Nursery
Fallbrook Finds
Some of you might know that I am a landscape designer by training. I positively gravitate to all things garden. So you might not find it surprising that one way I treat myself is a stopoff at Myrtle Creek Nursery when I get up to Fallbrook.
The Sherman Family
Myrtle Creek is a one of a kind place and if you haven’t been here, you owe it to yourself to go. Since 1984, three generations of the Sherman Family have been welcoming gardening enthusiasts to Myrtle Creek Nursery. Bruce and Marilyn Sherman purchased this farm in 1981. Located in a nineteenth century farmhouse and barn amidst rolling hills of Fallbrook, Myrtle Creek invites visitors to stop, look and linger in this tranquil setting.
The Nursery
Myrtle Creek boasts a professional staff including: Matthew Sherman – Landscape architecturalist, and Richard Sherman and sister Melissa Clark – Ornamental Horticulturists. They also have a wonderful array of long seasoned experts in a variety of disciplines to help homeowners and garden enthusiasts.
The nursery grows most of its own plants but they also bring in specialty trees and plants to meet client specifications. If you don’t see what you want, ask.
Gardeners from all over the country and world visit this widely respected establishment, but Myrtle Creek Nursery is known for more than their plants. The idyllic setting makes for a relaxing afternoon. The Sherman family encourages visitors to wander the soothing grounds by the natural spring and allow the beauty of nature to relieve the stress of everyday living.
Potsability
Bring your own pots or buy some here. The nursery will plant them in beautiful configurations–from succulent gardens to bulbs to assorted annuals. Their knowledgeable staff also offer classes on how to care for your plants once you get them home.
The Farmhouse
Visit the farmhouse for a unique selection of Myrtle Creek labeled jams, salsas, and delicious foods. Don’t miss their inspiring and eclectic garden gifts tucked into very corner of the old country home. Wander outside to see the water wheel house, the late 1800’s barn, and a huge selection of hanging baskets, trickling fountains and beautiful garden color.
