La Mesa Highlands
The Jewel of the Hills
The City of La Mesa enjoys some fine neighborhoods, and the La Mesa Highlands ticks all of the boxes for a great place to live. The homes here are beautifully constructed and offer picturesque views. And though the views make this place prime real estate, the homes up here are surprisingly reasonable. Photo Courtesy Trulia
Where are The Highlands
The actual highlands include portions of Alpine Avenue, Panorama, Glen and Mission Bell. When I look up here from below in the village, I think of Hollywood.
Some of the featured homes in the Highlands have contemporary design. The home shown here is mid century. Tall trees and full landscapes give wonderful privacy.
Though this neighborhood is primarily residential, all kinds of restaurants are just a short drive away, in and around the village.
I pretty much went up the line of La Mesa Boulevard and logged some of the great restaurants. I added in a couple because they are so good. Here is a partial list:
Tiramisu Centifonti’s Swami’s
Johnny B’s Por Favor Aubrey Rose Tea Room
La Torta Mario’s Gingham
Other fun things to do locally include golfing at the Sun Valley Golf Course, hiking at the scenic Lake Murray Reservoir, and shopping along La Mesa Boulevard. There are lots of antiques shops, some bookshops, a quilters shop, galleries, a gym, and a beautiful library around the corner.
La Mesa also has a great historical society. If you are thinking about San Diego, the Highlands of La Mesa area is a great place to live.
