Fletcher Hills

Great La Mesa Neighborhoods

Central Point

For me, the epicenter of Fletcher Hills is basically where Navajo Road meets Fletcher Parkway near the 125. On the map to the left, look under the “F” in Fletcher. It is here, sprinkled amidst all of the green neighborhoods, shoppers can find some great strip malls and fun restaurants.

Shoppers Delight

Up on Navajo Road, bordering on Lake Murray, is the Fresh and Easy Shopping Center with an LA Fitness, Ross Books, Gamestop and Walgreens.

If you take Navajo further east to Fletcher Parkway and turn left toward El Cajon, there is a great St. Vincent DePaul’s, 99 Cents Store, Baskin Robbins and a super cheap gas station. Go the other way and you have Michaels, Souplantation and a variety of other restaurants.

It’s like being on the border between two great cities, where you avoid the hustle and bustle but can still tap into everything those cities have to offer. The cities in this case are El Cajon and La Mesa. Further east on Fletcher you run into El Cajon, which has a Westfield Mall sitting across from Home Depot and some other super stores. Back toward La Mesa sits Grossmont Center with a top notch hospital and its own menu of fine stores–Macy’s, Walmart, Target, World Market, and Pier One Imports to name just a few.

Easy Access

Local groups using goats to keep the grass “mowed.”

The funny thing is that when you are in the actual neighborhoods, and not simply driving one of the convenient arteries that flow in and out of Fletcher Hills, it is so quiet. The Mission Trails Regional Park is nearby and great for hikers and nature enthusiasts.

Close to Great Food

Fletcher Hills has all of the fun quirks of an established neighborhood. For instance, at the corner of Fletcher and Jackson sits an authentic Russian Restaurant. Across the street at Best Buy, a gourmet food truck comes by on Tuesday night and serves great food from 5:30 pm until approximately 8:30 pm. Fletcher Hills is family friendly, established and involved. They have parks, a community pool and library, and there is easy access to other attractions like the Gaslamp or Marina Districts via the trolley system.

If you are looking for a home in East County, I highly recommend checking out Fletcher Hills!
