La Mesa Parade

As many of our readers know, this year 2012, La Mesa celebrates its centennial. This Saturday, in our salute to Old Glory, La Mesa will host some family friendly activities in the heart of our historic downtown.

Beginning at 9:00 am, in two pre-parade concerts, local musicians from La Mesa Middle School Band [performed at La Mesa Boulevard and Palm Avenues] and The East County Youth Symphony [performed at La Mesa Boulevard and Nebo Drive] will entertain residents.

Immediately following the concerts, at 10:00 am, the parade begins at intersection of University Avenue and La Mesa Boulevard. It marches down La Mesa Boulevard ending at Acacia Avenue.

La Mesa Chamber of Commerce will serve free hot dogs. The public is invited to join in a replication of the 1923 and 1992 community photos. City Hall will display the new photo.

There is also a GPS scavenger hunt.

Flyer is here.
