Today I think it would be good to discuss the organizational aspects of folks going back to school. Not everyone who is in class this fall is a child.
If you are like me, you too are involved in continuing education. With that in mind it is worthwhile for everyone to consider how we corral all of the stuff involved—books, papers, and workspace and study space.
Here are some suggestions: designate a certain area of the house for things people need when coming in and going out of the house.

This would mean things like backpacks, incoming and outgoing mail, keys, message center, and leashes for pets.
Pick one place
Maybe the front door does not work in your home. Why not set up a location in the kitchen or laundry room.
In Victorian times people used a Hall-boy. That was a piece of furniture with room for boots, umbrellas, hooks for hats and coats, and so on. But this doesn’t work in every space. You can pare it down for what you need in your situation.
This works for any room in the house
When there is a place for everything, life is smooth. If a person gets a little off track, clean up is simple and you’re back to business.
